On This Day

For Today, February 28 (10:29am)

Outside my window… light rain.  It’s 1ºC out there.

I am thinking… about the weather tomorrow.  What’s the driving condition going to be like?  We’ll be on a two-hour drive to Ottawa.

I am thankful for… creativity in so many forms.

From the kitchen… party leftovers — a welcome break from cooking for days.

I am wearing… my hair down (because it’s shorter and it can’t be tied back)

I am going… to the post office later.

I am creating… my lego house.  Raf got me my own Lego set yesterday.

I am reading… BOOM!  That’s the headline from Canadian Business magazine in front of me.  What happens when China crashes?

I am hoping… that my headache would be gone.  I woke up yesterday with it and is still with me up to now.

I am hearing… Raf talking to his classmate over the phone.

One of my favorite things… spring break!  The kids are home.

Around the house… noise.  The kids are home.

One of my least favorite things… mess.  The kids are home.

A few plans for the rest of the week… what else to cook when the leftovers are gone.  The kids are home.

Some photos to share:

From Saturday’s celebration…

Raf’s simple invitation… I miss doing this.
Making fondant blocks for the cake.
It’s a lego cake!
Chocolate fudge cupcakes…
…with filled centers.
The spread…
I was so insecure that the food I prepared might not be enough… and then one by one, the visitors arrived carrying loads of food!

Aside from the cake and cupcakes, I prepared Callos, Korean Beef Stew, Baked Salmon and Meatloaf, then they brought Chow Mien, El Salvadorian Tamales, Chilean Empanada, Sushi, Chicken Wings, and some Buchi, Turon, Cheesecake and Leche Flan!  It’s like the United Nations!

Happy birthday Raf!  May all your hopes and dreams come true.

My own Lego set.

Raf got this set for me because it resembles the house.

KQOTD.  While sorting the laundry, Gabby asked: Mom, as we grow older will our feet stink some more?
