The Big 10

Ten random things in chronological order (huh?)

10) Winter Festival in Brossard.

Tito Phil invited us to the Brossard Winter Festival.
Though it’s already our second winter here, it’s our first time to attend a winter festival.

Hi Tita Mely, hi Tito Phil!   [Tito Phil, your tuque reminded me of Raf’s joke –>  Raf: Where’s the coolest place in the Philippines?   Me: Baguio.   Raf: Wrong!  It’s Bicol (be cool!)]

At the foot of the snow hill waiting for the boys to slide down.
Gabby was first to come down, but fell around a few seconds after.
Unsure of what to do, he walked down the slope instead of continuing to slide.
Marco zipfying all the way down.
Raf hitting the snow bank.

9)  Occasionally been  having some pleasant weather here.

Tomorrow, forecast is 4ºC!

8 )  After School Backyard Play

This time, Gabby was covering Kuya Raf with snow.

7)  A Welcome Surprise!

My sister-in-law is having her own little girl!  Now, the pressure is on me!

6)  La Bibliotheque

The boys had become regular borrowers in our community library.  Raf particularly enjoys the visit there.
We usually borrow and return books or DVDs on Saturdays.
A recent favorite was the “In the Next Three Seconds” book.

It’s a collection of intriguing forecasts based on statistical information that presented a variety of things that could happen in the next 3 seconds, 3 minutes, 3 hours, 3 days, 3 nights, 3 weeks…. to 3 million years.

For example, in the next three seconds… a sprinting cheetah will cover three-quarters the length of a soccer field… the place where you are now on Earth will revolve 1.4 km eastwards…. Americans will throw away 3,000 aluminum drink cans….

5)  I added another year.

But I already stopped counting at age 30.

4)  Zipfying Down

The boys didn’t have class last Friday, coinciding with my birthday, so we took them out sledding.

As the saying goes: united they stand (in this case, united they start…)
…divided they fall.  (Now, imagine them at the mall… one goes left + one goes straight + one goes right = confused mom)

3)  Outdoor Skating

After tobogganing, we went to outdoor skating.  Since it was on a weekday, the place was deserted… we had the rink all to ourselves.

2)  Cupcake Tutorial

I had a couple of friends come over for cupcake tutorial. Sheila gave us a matching apron set complete with potholder, mitten, and hand towel.  Merci beaucoup, Sheila!

It was a potluck night.  Sheila brought a bucket of KFC and Mary brought a “huge” tray of baked macaroni.  Thank you so much!
Mary and Sheila
They are quick learners.  I’m proud of what they did.

1) The big 10!  Happy birthday, Raf!

Yesterday, he turned 10!  I love you, son!

KQOTD.  Mine and Raf’s birthdays are just four days apart.  Imagine my surprise when I heard Raf tell his brothers: “You know what’s cool?  As I grow older, Mommy grows much older too! ahahaha!”
