Bento Monday

Blame it on Pinterest….

I recently got hooked on the bento-way of packing the kids’ baon where different courses or snacks are contained in separate compartments within a single box.  The way I used to do it was to put each course in individual small containers, but at the end of the day I get tired of washing so many pieces.  Imagine the number of containers and lids for each course multiplied by three (three boys)… the washing time is endless and they easily take over a large space on my drying rack.   This happens every.single.day.  The bentos are space saver and dishwasher-friendly.  Love love love it.   The kids?  They love how their “baons” are presented.  They said it’s like eating on an airplane food tray.

Kids’ baon are prepared the night before so I don’t have to rush in the morning.  This allows me a few more minutes of sleep.
Snacks: mandarine orange, marble cheese, gold-fish crackers, organic lemonade.
Lunch: steamed broccoli, cauliflower and carrots with ranch dip, oven-roasted potato wedges and ketchup, and baked boneless chicken thigh.

Yummy.
