A few days after my birthday, my eldest son, Raf, turned 14. Wow! Time flies, ei?

I gave Raf some journal prompts. Here’s him at 14: “I really don’t watch TV but during my free time, I like to play video games and the guitar. I enjoy listening to (and watching) Sungha Jung play. I want to learn how to finger style like him. Someday, I also want to assemble my own computer and be able to choose the specs for each part. That’ll be cool. I think I’m good at computer troubleshooting. Outside, I like to play tennis, go biking, and see my friends. I’m not a mall person, but I like checking out stuff in the electronics and music stores. I like staying home too. I like the comfort it gives (and the yummy Mommy food). My favourite part of the day is class dismissal (and breakfast, lunch and dinner). Favourite chore? I don’t like chores, but I don’t hate them. They’re just something that I have to do whether I like them or not. Right now, I am reading “The Compound” by S.A. Bodeen. I’m enjoying it. I want to learn how to write well and speak well (like my Dad). Something that I need to keep working on is self-discipline. I want to visit Japan someday.
