Dear February, I ‘heart’ you. I scrapbook and blog at the same time. I take photos, I document our everydays… and in between, I cook, I clean, I do the laundry, I paint, I plant, I sew, I laugh, I cry, I love, I pray, I live.
February 8, Sunday… it was a very snowy day but we were up early to celebrate Alab’s second birthday, he’s the son of our new friends, AJ and Joane. He’s an amazing boy. A fighter. He suffers from osteogenesis imperfecta, a congenital bone disorder characterized by brittle bones that are prone to fracture. His parents organized a breakfast party for him at 9am because Alab is a morning person.

After mass, the boys and I offered one candle each. Mine was for my mom, Raf was for his teacher who has stage 2 cancer, Marco was for the birthday boy Alab, and Gabby for… himself. Gabby said he needed it.
Snowy, snowy Montreal… yet we headed to downtown for lunch buffet at Sushi Crescent.

February 11, Wednesday. Just perfect.

I was planning to treat the kids to dinner at a nice restaurant that evening but instead of them being excited, they looked dismayed. “Umm… you mean no yummy mommy food tonight?” Well there goes my supposed “break”. So for dinner, I served them lamb chops, baked potatoes, and buttered vegetables. No cake, but fresh fruits fondue and my homemade mochi ice-cream.

February 12, Thursday. Gee, I lust over a place where I can garden all year. In the meantime, I content myself with my little plant lab in the basement.
