Season Switch | July 2015

Welcome Summer!  This is our most anticipated season.  School is out, I can rest.  Lots of outdoor activities this season, from biking to tennis to gardening and out of town trips too!

The boys are a lot taller now from last summer.  They are a lot stronger too.  I can barely keep up with their speed as I lag distantly behind.

“Mom, do you want to play?”  Ummm… later, dear.  It’s too hot.

This month, we got the twins their own iPads.  For a couple of years, they’ve been using hand-me-downs: Gabby used Riel’s iPad 1 while Marco used my iPad 2.  Both tablets are no longer supported with the recent Apple updates.

Good job for doing well in school.

Summer is also for lazy days in the basement.  It stays pretty cool there… except that sometimes it, um, smells like the boys.  In fairness, my boys don’t stink at all.

Yeah, Mom, this is our territory!

Summer is also a time for hosting a few house guests.

Luis and Jackie are from Boston.  They stayed with us for three days as they went around Montreal, part of their summer road trip itinerary.  Luis was Riel’s office colleague back in PLDT.

Summer is spending time in the garden, except when it is scorching hot outside.

I welcome every bit of rain we get on hot days.  For prolonged dry days, the timed sprinkle is my best friend.
On overcast days, I enjoy relaxing on the deck armed with snacks and good reading materials.  Such is life.

Summer means late nights too.  The boys still go in our room once in a while to bond with us or check out what I am working on.  The thing about them is that they are all supportive of my hobbies and appreciate every little thing that I do.  That keeps me going.

Raf, what are you doing?  (Pardon my desk, it’s organized in a random way.)
Awww… he wrote this on my planner.  This boy knows how to surprise me in a good way.  I love you so much.
