Monday Daybook (and randomness)

Monday, April 20, 8:12 am

OUTSIDE MY WINDOW… the morning sun shining so brightly.  Today is going to be another warm day.

I AM THINKING… what time I would leave the house to do errands.  Getting out of the house seems a huge task for me lately.  I feel so lazy.

I AM THANKFUL FOR… a lot of things.  Really, I shouldn’t complain at all.  I feel so blessed.

FROM THE KITCHEN… the Royce chocolate truffles from Gina seem to be a good idea for breakfast.

I AM WEARING… Raf’s blue shirt from Hawaii.  It says “Here Comes Trouble”.   I wear hand-me up shirts.  The kids are growing up too fast and I am forever vertically challenged.

I AM CREATING… menu for the week.  It’s a Monday duty.

I AM READING… The Doomsday Conspiracy by Sidney Sheldon.  I’m re-reading all his books.    I don’t think we will be bringing all our books to Canada.

I AM HOPING… that things go well.

I AM HEARING… Pokemon Battle Revolution being played on the wii.  (Yeah, so early in the morning!)

AROUND THE HOUSE… the paintings were re-framed and now hanging on the white walls.  I still need to develop a fascination over paintings.  It’s not yet my kind of thing.

I AM ENJOYING… watching Susan Boyle of Britain’s Got Talent on Youtube and swooning over Simon Cowell.  The lady has an amazing voice and Simon Cowell’s reaction was priceless!  swoon again

A FEW PLANS FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK… visit the dentist for root canal and molar crowning  on Wednesday morning.  And probably see my mom after that.

SOME RANDOMNESS…  the previous days in bullets:

<Good Friday was Visita Iglesias>

I was with my Mom and sister Liezl.  We toured Mendiola and Intramuros.   We went to different churches and did the 14 Stations at Manila Cathedral.

Our first stop was the San Beda chapel along Mendiola.  I used to pass here everyday for four years.

The inside reminds me of the Sistine Chapel.

Then we passed by my our old school.  Me and my sisters all studied here.  For four years, we wore long sleeved-white uniforms.  We looked like nuns na walang belo.

Eeep!  They’re now accepting male students!?!  Sign of the times???  I wonder how the German and Polish nuns handle the guys.   They were pretty strict with us.

St. Jude used to be our Thursday destination back in college.  St. Jude Thaddeus is the Patron of  Hopeless Cases. (Looking back, I can’t recall why I was there every Thursday)

After Mendiola, we proceeded to Intramuros.  Above is the Manila Cathedral.  We did our Stations of the Cross here and was shocked why the stations in our prayer book differ from the images hanging inside the church.  Then my mom and Liezl informed me that the 14 stations were revised two years ago.   They also informed me that they added a  new mystery for the Holy Rosary, the Mystery of Light.

My Mom.  She treated us for lunch at Century Park.  I’ll miss her when we leave.  Too bad, she can’t fly anymore.

<The Cousins were here for a week, again!>

We’re making the most of our last Summer vacation here so we’ve invited the cousins for another week of sleepover.

Wednesday bonding time.  Two more cousins joined in, Gibby and Peggy.  They were at the pool from 2pm to 6pm.

<Raf received two awards this school year>

He got the Academic Excellence award…
…and the Student Award.
Honey, we’re so proud of you!  Good job!  We hope you continue to do well in the years to come and be an inspiration to your kid brothers.

<Friday disappointment, the pool was closed>

The village pool was reserved for an afternoon party.  The kids were disappointed.  So instead, they played in the backyard.

And had as much fun!
