Two weeks ago, DH (darling husband) bought the kids their own Nintendo DS. The twins got the DS Lite while Raf has the newer DSi which comes with a camera. He’s crazy about this feature because you can play with the images. Imagine my surprise when I took a look at his memory card:

Bottom L-R: Mario Yaya Carmel; Mexican Raf; Kaleidoscope Mom

KQOTD: While fetching the kids after football, it started to rain. I told the boys to get in the car quickly. Inside the car, Raf opened the window and the musty smell of the rain went inside the car. Marco: Yuck kuya, I don’t like the smell of the rain. Me: Why? What’s the smell of the rain? Marco: Umm, like a dead centipede. Me (chuckling because of the description. I asked further): Well, how does Mommy smell? This time, Raf answered: You smell like 54 roses. (Naks! I don’t know where he got the 54 figure. I asked once more.) Me: How about daddy? Raf (unsure): Umm, he smells like a modest gentleman? (*Tee hee* How does a modest gentleman smell?)
KQOTD2 (more on descriptions). Leaving the house to take the kids swimming, the car was exposed under the heat of the sun. Me: Kids, be careful, the seat is hot. Raf: Mom, hot means pretty. Me (turned my head to him): What did you say? Who said that? Raf (in a matter-of-fact tone): O, how come in TV they say “it’s hot!” all the time. Like, hot girls, hot bags, hot wheels…
KQOTD3. On our way to the pool. Marco: Mom, are you swimming with us? Me: Yep! See? I’m wearing my bathing suit underneath. Marco: Wait, umm, do girls wear bathing suit when they date a boy?
KQOTD4. Raf gained another few pounds since summer started. We’re controlling his intake. One evening, he just finished the food on his plate, but wanted to eat some more. Raf: Mom, can I have more meat, please? Riel (interfering): Raf, you don’t need to eat more. You’re full already. Raf (reasoning out): But I feel that there’s still some space in my stomach.
