We had some friends come over for an intimate dinner last Sunday. It was a lovely evening. The weather cooperated; it was drizzling before they arrived. I did a little sun dance and it worked!

These are my friends from RCBC. They came all the way from Fairview, Marikina, Quezon City, and Makati. I love having friends around. They make me happy. Unfortunately, some of my invitees couldn’t make it.

My foie gras salad is similar to the one served at Lolo Dad’s. DH requests that I serve it again when he hosts dinner for his Far East Bank friends and office colleagues on the 29th.

The day before: Saturday

Along Villalobos St. coming from Wellmanson, the ultimate bead shop. Beading is a new craft that I want to start, which my Mom is discouraging me –> she says it’ll destroy my eyes. But I’m a stubborn child. And she loves me. I’m going back to the shop next week. And she’s coming with me again.

After Quiapo, we stopped by at Dangwa. Ever since I discovered Dangwa last month, I want to go there every weekend. Dangwa is the cheapest place to get fresh flowers. The floral bouquets that sell P150 in groceries and P100 in the local markets can be had here for 3-for-P100! Florists come here to source most of their requirements.

On another note, my lab test showed high cholesterol, particularly the LDL type, and high uric acid. The doctor didn’t prescribe any medicine but a change in diet: eat more fish and vegetables and avoid red meat. We’re doing more tests tomorrow.

KQOTD-1. We hired a new nurse for Mommy Bu. I called my kids to introduce themselves. Marco was first. Me (to Marco): Why don’t you introduce yourself to Ate Weng. What is your name? Marco (confused and couldn’t believe what he heard): What Mommy? You forgot my name?
KQOTD-2: I overheard Marco and Gabby arguing over something. Gabby wasn’t giving in to Marco’s request. Marco got annoyed, turned to me to tell on Gabby: Mommy, look at Gabby. He’s not following the elders. Me (looked around the room and found just Marco and Gabby there): Who are the elders you’re referring to? Marco: Me! Me: But you’re twins! Marco (explaining): I mean in size!
KQOTD-3: The kids love playing hide and seek and I occasionally play with them as long as they are the “it”. I am good hider but bad at being found because I scream. One time, I was hiding inside DH’s closet, scrunched down behind the hanged pants and had no idea that Raf was coming. When Raf opened the door, I screamed so loud that Raf screamed as well. Then Raf told me: Sheesh, Mom! You almost gave me an artichoke! (He meant heart attack)
