Well, here I am now after several weeks of online hiatus. Many things have been happening and not happening at the same time. Fixing the basement (from September flood) has been very taxing and now it’s coming together.

I even painted a lighthouse view from a photo that I took in Halifax. I’m doing a series of paintings from our Maritime trip. I have big empty walls to fill in.
I am so happy that the basement is almost there, with just a few pieces of furniture to get and assemble. The boys are finally back in their cave. Weekend play dates resumed almost immediately.

Daybook (Sunday, November 20, 2011 at 11:13pm)
Outside my window… it’s cold and dark, except for the orangey glow coming from the deck lights. Real feel outside is -5C. Forecast is that there’s a chance of light snow on Wednesday.
I am thinking… about the menu plan for the week. (Oftentimes I get off track so what’s the point anyway?)
I am thankful for… having found a family doctor. We’ll have our medical check-up in January.
From the kitchen… I just had my night snack: Pralined macadamia nuts and shortbread in dulce de leche yogurt. It’s healthier than ice-cream, promise! 🙂
I am wearing… light blue house dress with little snowflakes print.
I am creating… paintings and a photo book.
I am going... to take part on Saturday’s bake sale at our local church. I’ll be making cookies.
I am reading… Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson. Chapter One: Childhood. Abandoned and Chosen.
I am hoping… that my mom and Ate can visit me here. 🙂
I am hearing… the dishwasher running and an airplane passing by.
Around the house… new curtains in the kitchen, old curtains ready for nettoyage.
One of my favorite things… sugar ice cream cones.

KQOTD. Marco: Mom, I was elected class president! I got 9 votes out of 21. Me: Alright! 🙂

More pictures and stories to share:
There’s a video game called Minecraft (think digital Lego…) which the boys are very much into. So for Halloween, they wanted a Minecraft costume. I didn’t know how it looked like so the boys showed me an image from the web. From there, I made the head from a cardboard box and painted the face.

My minecraft kids ready for trick or treat. They got a lot of candies. One time I kidded them that I ate all their candies because I was so hungry. They didn’t believe me. I can’t pull off a joke.

Yesterday we were at downtown for the Santa Clause parade. Colorful and interesting. It was cold outside.
