Eight And Some

The twins turned EIGHT last September 17.  We celebrated it twice.

First was on the day itself along lakeshore, at the park near our place.
We invited their neighbor bus mates for pizza lunch.
It became sort of a bike party since the kids brought their respective two-wheelers.

Our second celebration was on Sunday with family.  I made a cake for them.  It was a chance for me to play with sugar again.

Forming Marco and Gabby in sugar.
Wearing their favorite colors: Marco’s sky blue and Gabby’s orange.
The finished cake.   (See my other sugar creations here, here, here, here, and here)
Showing off their cake.
Getting ready for their birthday wish.
And one more time for the cake that Tita Mely made.
This is actually the cake that was served.  It definitely tasted better than the cake that I used for my fondant cake, which was just a pre-mixed cake.
Opening their gifts.

It was a happy occasion.  I was so busy that day that I forgot to take pictures of the people who came.

In the meantime, for today, October 5 at 9:13am

Outside my window…  the sun is out!  But it’s 9ºC outside.  Summer’s definitely gone.

I am thankful for… the freedom that I feel right now.

From the kitchen… I’m already cooking dinner at 9am in the morning!

I am thinking… what to do with all the meats and bell peppers that Mama left us.

I am wearing… an apron on top of a normal shirt and a pair of black jogging pants.

I am going… to New York this weekend with family.

I am reading… my credit card bills… and it’s not wonderful.  But the husband pays it… and that’s wonderful.

I am hoping… for a relaxed weekend this week, not too cold I hope.

I am hearing… Rod Stewart on the radio.

A few plans for the rest of the week: still meal planning.

A picture thought that I am sharing:

I started painting.  Green Apple, acrylic on canvas.
