Seven

Look who just turned seven last Thursday…

The twins!  Happy birthday Marco and Gabby.

We got an ice-cream cake from Dairy Queen.  Riel let the twins choose their own cake but we ended up buying the cake that I wanted!  Hehehe… in our household, mom rules!

Updates:

In School. The kids are doing pretty well in school and I am happy for that.

They attend a welcome class that introduces French language to non-French speaking children.  And I love that my three children belong to the same class.  It makes it easier for me to monitor their school work.

I usually tell them to do their assignments individually and then ask them to check each others’ work.   It’s fun watching them discuss and argue… and yeah, criticize each others’ handwriting.

Around Town. My roommate brought me to a Fruit Market in the adjacent town.  I’ve never seen that much fruits and veggies in just one place.

The produce here are sold cheaper than the local groceries.
I wanted to buy a little of everything…
…but fear that spoilage will just catch up on us.

On the South Shore.  We went to a school gymnasium last Friday.    Tito Phil invited us for badminton and basketball.  We met a lot of Filipinos there.

It was already after dinner but the kids still had a lot of energy.
In the Neighborhood. The kids were invited to a classmate’s birthday party.   The celebrant was also a Filipino.  The highlight of the party was the pinata.
There were six kids lining up to hit the pinata.  Three of those children are mine!
Go ahead Gabby, hit the pinata.  He was going for it….

…then he suddenly turned and headed towards my direction!  (Even when blindfolded, my children gravitate to me… but he was holding a stick and ready to swing!!!)

Marco hit the pinata but it wasn’t strong enough to make the goodies fall.
Raf’s turn… um, excuse me… I think you covered too much of my son’s face.
Ooops, he missed.
The kids were getting impatient so they took out the blindfold but they still have to hit the pinata.  Gabby’s hit was too weak.
Marco’s mid-air shot.  WHAAACCKKKK!!!!!
Raf’s swing broke the pinata open.
The kids with their goodies.

In my Mac.  The twins playing with PhotoBooth.

KQOTD-1. Me: How does it feel to be seven years old?  Marco: It feels just like six years old.

KQOTD-2. During prayer before meals, the twins said their birthday wishes…  Marco: That everyone will have a good day.  Gabby: That people in the Philippines will be okay.
