Welcome 2013! My mom recently complained that I don’t update this blog as often as I should. But then, I regularly keep in touch with them thru viber, facetime, facebook and email like almost instantly when something new comes up so the thrill of writing about it diminishes. Still, others think it’s worthwhile for me to continue posting as this becomes a repository of memories of the family, something that can be read and re-read on a whim. So I guess that for this year, you’ll be seeing me more often. 🙂
Daybook: January 1, 2013 (Monday) 3:11pm
Outside my window… more than two feet of snow, sun is out, -11˚C with real feel of -23˚C.

I am thankful for… all the blessings in 2012. It was a good year.
From the kitchen… osso buco for dinner tonight.
I am wearing… a dotted apron for new year. They said wearing polka dots or filling your dining table with round food on new year bring prosperity, associating the round shape to coins/ wealth.

I am reading… a kobo e-book, “How Eskimos Keep Their Babies Warm… and other Adventures in Parenting”. I should have read this while my kids were still babies, but I still find it as an interesting read.

I am hearing… hubby is working and has been on CNN since last night, monitoring the US fiscal cliff for the past couple of days.

One of my favorite things… freshly-brewed starbucks coffee at home.
A few plans for the rest of the week… shop.
A photo to share… new year, new look!

ETA (edited to add), 10pm: Still new year’s day here, but DH is already back to work (CNN live, Bloomberg on iPad, and long distance phone call to Singapore).
