Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow…

We had our first snow storm the other day.

It was cold and dreary.  School wasn’t cancelled but we promised the boys a good amount of playtime when they get home.
This was something new to us.  We were mesmerized by the immaculate blanket of snow, about 30cm thick.
In the afternoon, we picked up the boys at the bus stop.
My youngest hurriedly ran to his Dad, ready to exact the promised play.
As soon as they dropped their schoolbags at the unit, they stormed outside to have fun.

I guess you can say that we’re not yet true Montrealers because we were too excited for the snow.  My boys were the only ones outside playing in the middle of a snow storm!

Enjoying the novelty of it all.  The boys were having fun!  And from the third floor window, I could hear their squeals of laughter and delight. They played until sun down.

Then a neighbor came.  He was walking his dog.
Before I could protest, the boys were already playing with the dog.  Now they want to have a dog.
Raf.
Marco.
Gabby.

In other news…

Marco’s moving tooth made him uncomfortable the other night.
He was moving it vigorously but the tooth wouldn’t fall off.  I was afraid that he might swallow his tooth while sleeping and that he’d choke on it.
But Marco was worried about something else: that if he swallow his tooth, he wouldn’t have anything for the tooth fairy… and there goes his money!

Well last night, his tooth fell while brushing his teeth.

He looked at the mirror and became so upset.  He said, “Mommy, I don’t look nice anymore!”
To that, I teased him: “Marco, you look like a halloween citrouille!”  Then we all had a good laugh.  Citrouille is pumpkin in Français.

In the above photo, Marco was asking Gabby for his expert advice on how to eat with missing tooth.  Gabby had two missing front teeth… for quite a few years now.

A picture thought: Gabby’s wounded face.

A consequence of his pure carelessness.

KQOTD.  Every month, I instruct Raf to deliver the payment for the school daycare.   Recently, he complained.  Raf:  Why do you always ask me to do it?  Why don’t you ask Marco or Gabby?  Me: Because you’re the eldest.  Raf:  Well, it’s not my fault to be the eldest!!!
