For this I am not prepared at all.
Raf went home this afternoon talking about what a (misguided) kid in school told him. That this kid (two years older than my son, and mind you, not even his classmate) approached him and a couple of his classmates and told them about what he saw in a movie and it was, um, a “censored” description, if you know what I mean. Worse, the twins now know about it, too! Raf came to me and asked, “Is it true, Mommy?” I asked him back (my mind was racing) “What do you think?” He answered, “Yucky!” Then pause, then asked again, “But does it happen in real life, Mommy?”
Oh. My. God!
My blood was boiling. I wanted to strangle that kid, wring his neck until his tongue waggles and pull it out! I wanted to send my kids back to the Opus Dei school in Manila. But of course I was calm explaining to him that sometimes kids say crazy stuff and that they don’t know what they are talking about. And if they hear things like this again, they shouldn’t discuss it with anyone else because it is not polite, instead they should come to me and Daddy to talk about it. To us, it is important that the kids communicate with us, that they can talk to us about anything.
Oh, and this is classic. I asked roommate what I should do about this. He answered, “Do what you do best, Bern —> deny to death! And tell them the truth when they’re thirty!”

Anyway, more of recent happenings:
Autumn is here.

In our balcony, we had a visitor:

Luckily, the children were in school when it visited, otherwise they would beg me on bended knees to have it as their pet. And I would have received dagger looks for shooing it away with a broom.
And I found a monster in the trash.

KQOTD. I like to play games when I do house chores with the kids to make it fun. One day, while setting the table, Raf was just dumping the plates, forks and knives on the table mindlessly, so I said: Hey Raf, let’s pretend that we own a hotel and we are setting the table for our guests. C’mon, let’s do it properly. Raf replied, “Mmmmom! If we own a hotel, I will not be doing this. We’ll have employees to do this.” Boy, was I in shock!
