Hometown Tourists: Part 2 (Pointe-Claire)

We’re so happy with our new bikes, riding weekly and exploring neighboring towns.  Most of the time, we turn left from the corner of our street going East, but on some occasion, we go opposite direction.   Today, I’m bringing you to Pointe-Claire, a town next to us.  Our bike shop is located there.

Traversing the hilly and winding road of Lakeshore to Pointe-Claire is always a good workout. This quaint town has so much to offer… small restaurants, shops and charming cottages.

Near the lake is the stone church of Saint-Joachim in a Gothic-Revival style.

Across the church is an outdoor artwork commemorating the nuns of Notre-Dame Congregation that occupied the convent nearby for more than two centuries.  The city recently closed the convent, citing that it has become too expensive to maintain.
