Today’s Daybook (Saturday, Aug 6, 2016)

Outside my window… gray skies and muggy.  It’s 28ºC with humidity index of 44%.  I’m hoping for some rain, just enough to quench the thirst of our browning grass.

From the kitchen… twice-cooked pork adobo.  It was actually a leftover from Thursday’s dinner.  We ate it today for lunch, paired with sunny-side up egg.

Around the table… Missing Raf today at the table.  I dropped him off this morning at the bus station.  He went with his friends to downtown for Day 2 of Otakuthon, an anime convention.  He also went there yesterday and had a great time.  He took the bus coming home yesterday, his first time to commute solo and he messed up. He called us last night just after dinner and asked to be picked up at the airport.  He got confused with the bus schedule and which station.  It’s alright.  We’re short of ten minutes away from the airport.  It was a learning experience for him, to which Riel and I are glad.  We want the children to be comfortable in our hometown.

I am wearing… a chevron slip dress which I sewed a couple of years ago.  It’s a good summer dress.  No frills.  (Note to self: I should make more of this).

I am creating… our Quebec 2106 road trip travelers notebook, which I plan to share online once done.

I am reading… collective feeds via Mr. Reader and Flipboard.  There’s just so much to read and it’s just… heaven!

I am hearing… literally as I write, Riel is tinkering with his bike bell! Oh, we’re into road cycling and I’m loving it very much.  (Separate post to follow)

Around the house… the twins are in the basement — it’s cooler down there and for sure, they’re eyes are on their electronics; Riel tinkering his bike; laundry in the washer; dishwasher running.  Lazy Saturday afternoon.

A few plans… we’re joining a group of bikers later at 5:30.  It’s our first time to join and we’re excited!

A photo to share… my mother, and I miss her very much.
