Big Things Happening

Welcome June!  Nasty weather outside.  I’ve cancelled dates because of rains and traffic.  Hopefully, the coming days wouldn’t be as wet and dreary.  Anyway, the countdown begins.  The big move is on June 12, next Friday.  Mixed emotions here… happy and sad at the same time, excited and scared.  Please forgive me for the lack of post.  My mind is preoccupied with a lot of things.

We started packing.  Not just the things that we’ll bring, but the things that we’re leaving behind.  And as I was rummaging through our stuff, I found these:

Footwear

Some of the twins’ baby footwear.  I thought I gave them all away.  Maybe I kept a few pairs in the hope should I get pregnant again.  Finding these cuties unexpectedly made me smile, reminiscing those happy and chaotic days.  Having twins mean buying two things of the same kind at the same time.

Last Friday, we had some friends (DH’s colleagues, past and present) come over for dinner.

These are DH’s friends from Far East Bank who made it to dinner despite the strong rains.

And last Tuesday, my Mom gave my family a send-off dinner in Sugi.  I love Japanese food.

My Mom with her sister Tita Glory and Tito Ed.
Me and Riel with my Mom’s brother Tito Art and Tita Vangie.
With Achi and cousin Larry.
With my sister Liezl and Matt, and cousin Kim.
We had dessert at Bizu.
Plenty of sweets to choose from.

My kids went crazy over these French Macarons.  (Achi said macarons shouldn’t be confused with macaroons.  The former is meringue-like french pastry while the latter is more dense and made with coconut)

I had my coffee.
The best thing about dinner with family is the “kwentuhan”.
I’ll miss my Achi.  She’s really a big sister, literally and figuratively.  We talk almost everyday, chat included.
And my kid sister, Liezl.  She’s pregnant with her first born.  I still call her my kid sister, although she’s already 30 years old.

And Dennis, my only brother.  He wasn’t there that night.  He said he doesn’t get “busog” with Japanese food.  I love his nose.  Whyever my kids didn’t get his nose?

The Kriberdenn… Kris, Bern, Dennis.  My Dad thought of naming a company after us.
My Mom and me… posing like Japanese animes.  I love my family.  I am what I am today because of them.

KQOTD.  Marco (problematic): Mommy, if we’re staying in Canada for so long, how will we get married if all the pretty girls are here?  And I can’t understand the girls there because they speak in French.
