Ah… Summer!

School is out!  Our first outing was to OKA Beach, the closest plage to us, about 55km from our place.

We didn’t know that we had to board a small ferry to cross to the other side until our Garmin lead us to the dock.
Gabby was pleasantly surprised.  He remembered quite well the ferry experience when we went to Prince Edward Islands last year.
But this was a short ride, less than 20 minutes.
We all got out of the car when the ferry started to move and enjoyed the breeze.  We went there with good friends.
Les femmes… aka the photographers.

Later on I learned that OKA was inhabited by Europeans in the early 1700s.  The place is also famous for its OKA cheese produced by the monks living at the Abbey of Notre-Dame du Lac.

Parc national d’OKA.
Our destination was inside the park.
We reached the beach at 9am.

Setting up and waiting for lunch.
Me and my good friend, Jojie.
You can see buildings across the beach.

By noontime, it was too hot and the number of people more than tripled.  We decided to leave around one in the afternoon and rinse at our friends’ house.  The boys swam in their pool and enjoyed the fresher water even more.
