A lotsa lotsa…

It’s been awhile since I’ve last posted and I miss it a bit, although I do post some updates in Facebook.  A lot of things happened in February up to halfway of March.

On Faith:  The twins had their sacrament of First Reconciliation last February 4.

Gab and Marc were quite late to receive the sacrament (they’re nine years old).  Attending the First Faith Program for at least two years was a prerequisite for this.

Bless me Father for I have sinned….
Candle for light.
Water for cleansing.
My two angels.

Event:  Valentine Dinner Dance in Brossard on February 4.

On Crafts:  I do whatever crafts during my spare time and recently, Marco asked me if I could transform one of his drawings into a toy.
I gave him pieces of felt fabric to draw on so I could cut and stitch it.
It was a very quick project but he loves it!

On health: A trip to the ER of Montreal Children’s Hospital for Raf on Feb 15.  What a way to spend his birthday there.  His school had sent him home for three straight days every 9:30 in the morning on complaints of severe headache.  By the time I picked him up, he seemed okay.  He was jolly, had no fever, and appetite was still the same.   Riel and I were skeptical that he might be “making up some stories” to avoid school so I scolded him.  On the third day, I brought him to the doctor to check if anything was “really” wrong with him.  The doctor suspected that it was migraine but advised us nonetheless to go directly to the ER “just to be sure”.   After waiting for seven hours in the ER — despite his “urgent” status — the doctor saw us and recommended a CT scan first thing in the morning.  Findings: he had blocked sinuses which was giving him extremely painful headaches.  I was with him the following day and witnessed how he suffered.

His usual jolly self while waiting for the doctor.

Then the attack began.

He was crying, twisting, shifting position.  He was in extreme pain.  I couldn’t do anything.  I felt so helpless.  It lasted for an hour.

So tired after the headache episode.  When he woke up, he asked me: “Mom, why did you have to see it first before believing me?  I never lie.”  I felt so so bad.  True, Raf doesn’t lie.  😦

Celebration:  Eleventh birthday of Raf, celebrated three times: with family, with friends, with classmates.

In the kitchen: Freshly-made cheesy ensaymada.   It was unsuccessful.  I was impatient and didn’t wait for the second rising.
On Learning:  I’m teaching Marco acrylic painting.
He chose his own subject.  He got an image from the web.  It was Boracay sunset.
He loves colors, vivid ones.
I think he did well.  Don’t you agree?
