Or exactly two years ago, we packed our bags…

Year 2 is a year discovery. We learned new things about ourselves, started to put down roots and cultivated new relationships. It was a year of visitors, of road trips, of parties and get-togethers, of new activities and learnings. We hosted guests from Nova Scotia, California, Toronto, Connecticut, Denmark and Manila. We went to Quebec, New York, Virginia, Niagara, Toronto and Ottawa. We celebrated the birthdays of the twins, Riel, and Raf and held numerous get-togethers with friends. New things include new school and the coming out of Gabby’s teeth (after five years of waiting, this is such a big deal to him), and new activities and learnings such as biking, skating, and painting. We’re geared up for Year 03.
Year 1 had a lot of challenges. Change was most difficult. It was getting out of your comfort zone, leaving everything that you were accustomed to. But you learn as you expand. When things get tough, we remind ourself that we are doing this for the children:

Today’s Daybook
June 12, Sunday (09:44 am)
Outside my window… the ground is wet from the early morning showers. It’s cool outside, real feel of 12˚c. The garden is presentable, looks like someone is taking care of it.
I am thinking… how proud I am of the boys. We biked 8km yesterday. It was their first time to bike that long.
I am thankful for… a very nice evening last night. We had fun at the “Pista Sa Nayon”
From the kitchen… vegetable strata baking in the Turbo for breakfast.
I am wearing… jammies.
I am hoping… that it’s July already. I’m really looking forward to something. 🙂
I am hearing… the birds chirping outside.
I am going to… Sunday mass in an hour.
I am creating… project 365 one photo a day via Instagram. Love, love, love it.
Around the house… doing some clean up. Mama and Papa are arriving later. 🙂
One of my favorite things… package delivery.
A few plans for the rest of the week… summer break from French course. Je suis heureuse!
