<Logging Out>
I resigned from the corporate world after spending ten long years wearing suits and heeled shoes. I thought of making an album about it, documenting how it was like working in a real office. I listed the things which I think I will and will not miss, and also included a couple of pages of the things I look forward to. This album is something that my kids can look back on, that at some point in their mom’s life, she led a nine-to-five job (and occasional overtime). At the end of the album are blank scrapbook layouts on which my officemates wrote their messages to me.
Techniques: I used actual office supplies found at my desk as elements. Flat elements (i.e. ID, Annual Reports, parking ticket, and HR memo) were scanned. All other items are photos that were cropped. I put specific notes below the layouts for your reference.

For lack of better things to write, this is what I wrote: January eight, nineteen ninety-six to june thirty, two thousand six ten years and six months one hundred twenty-six months five hundred forty-six weeks three thousand, eight hundred twenty-six days ninety-one thousand, eight hundred twenty-four hours five million, five hundred nine thousand, four hundry forty minutes * three hundred thirty million, five hundred sixty-six thousand four hundred seconds.
I got the slogan “Life can be delightfully unpredictable” from an ad in Real Simple magazine that I was reading at that time. (I looked tired and sleepy here. Definitely not my fave photo)

Golf: so far my golf shoes still looks new, which means golf never really took off. Shop: check. Manage the store: we’ve already sold the business. Scrap: I still hoard supplies, but I’m pure digital now. Take photos: check. Travel: check. Gym: what gym????
